Photoexhibition "Dear Japan"
Photography from Marjan Krebelj
The coming photography exhibition "Dear Japan" with photographs from Marjan Krebelj will be
opened on Friday, 18th october at 8pm in the Gallery PhotoSecession, Rechten Wienzeile 85, 1050 Wien.
The work of the slowenian photographer Marjan Krebelj can be
seen in Vienna for the first time.
He shows his skills and talent again with his excellent photograph series "Dear Japan".
The photographer was inspired by traditional Japanese prints and ink blots such as those made by
Hiroshige and Hokusai as well as even earlier examples.
These old Japanese inkblots have a special contemplation, almost
Zen-like quality. Using the tools of modern photography Marjan Krebelj achieves
similarly beautiful, meditative results. Each photograph opens up a pathway to an intimate spiritual
experience. Almost like Haiku, Krebelj’s photography reads like poetry.
